Editorial & Corrections Policy

What we do
Big Chocky publishes independent reporting, research, commentary and opinion on Australian issues. We are not affiliated with any political party, and we do not claim to be neutral — we have views and we state them. What we do commit to is being clear about which is which.

Reporting, analysis and opinion
Where we report facts, we aim to source them and, where practical, cite the primary document. Where we analyse or express an opinion, that is what it is, and we don't dress it up as objective fact.

Sourcing
We prefer primary sources — official documents, published data, records, and on-the-record interviews. Where a claim rests on a single source or cannot be independently verified, we aim to say so.

Right of reply
Where we make a significant allegation about an identifiable person or organisation, we aim to seek a response before publication and to publish or fairly summarise any response received.

Corrections
We correct errors of fact. If a correction materially changes a story, we note it on the article itself rather than quietly editing. Minor typographical fixes are made without notice.

How to raise a correction or concern
Email admin@bigchocky.com with the article, the specific claim, and any supporting material. We will review it and respond. If we got something wrong, we will say so.

Guests and contributors
Interviews and guest contributions may include views we do not share, and publishing them is not an endorsement.

Funding and independence
Our work is funded by reader subscriptions, voluntary supporter contributions, and product sales.
